A volunteer opportunity has developed for a Professional Mentor. The Purdue-Fort Wayne student chapter is in need of an individual that would be able to assist them with getting their first project off the ground.
This would involve identification, design, and implementation of final constructed project. They have been active for a year or so, but have so far not been able to identify a suitable project. The mentor would work with the Faculty Advisor to help the students.
Seven years or more of professional experience would be desirable as the mentor could also serve as Responsible Engineer In Charge (REIC). Otherwise, the mentor will need to assist the students in finding a REIC.
Time commitment would likely average an hour or two per week depending on the chapter’s activity. There will likely be an opportunity for travel to the project site.
Note: this is a key position as mentors have been hard to locate. The mentor will enable the chapter to move forward to accomplish their goals. If you would like more info, feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
